This site is a tribute to Brendan Hehir, who was born in Lismore, Co. Waterford on October 22, 1943. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

It is with the deepest sadness that we must announce that our beloved Brendan passed away on Saturday morning. He died peacefully, in the company of close family, leaving behind Zita, his wife of fifty years, his four children and nine grandchildren. We understand that this news will come as a shock to the many people who knew and loved him. Our family has lost its center of gravity; he was the cog who made the whole mechanism tick.

There is no repairing a hole this big, and no easy path to consolation for those forced to live alongside it. However, we are determined to see Brendan off in the spirit in which he lived - with unwavering love, pragmatism and cheer. From Zita and The Hehir Family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to be made in Brendan's honour to two charities that were dear to him (details of these can be found on this site).
